Pete won over 60% of the vote in Eastern Washington in his recent Attorney General race, sweeping all but one county and outpacing Nick Brown and even Patty Murray herself in those same counties.

Senator Patty Murray has vowed to block Pete Serrano’s confirmation as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington using the so‑called “blue slip” tradition. This is not a law—it’s a discretionary Senate custom that too often serves as a one‑senator veto.
WHAT IS THE “BLUE SLIP”?
The blue slip is a nonbinding Senate tradition where home‑state senators signal support or opposition to a nominee. It is not required by any statute, and the Judiciary Committee may choose to proceed without it.
Bottom line: It’s optional. The Senate can hold a fair up‑or‑down vote on Pete Serrano without delay. We need your help to make this happen.
The blue slip isn’t law.
It’s an internal Senate courtesy that can be ignored or overridden.
One senator shouldn’t block justice.
A single member shouldn’t stall a qualified nominee.

I’m disturbed to hear that Senator Patty Murray is attempting to block Serrano’s confirmation using the so-called “blue slip” process. This is not law—it’s a partisan maneuver. Please rise above politics and support Serrano’s confirmation.
Pete Serrano represents the values of Eastern Washington. In his campaign for Washington State Attorney General, he received more votes in Eastern Washington counties than Senator Murray herself.
